Momoiro Clover Z

Around last Oct I discovered an Idol group on Youtube called Momoiro Clover Z. Normally I don't care for idols. To be honest, if they weren't dressed up looking somewhat like power rangers. I wouldn't have taken the time to check out the video as I saw a thumbnail of them on the right side of the Youtube page. But because they did, I clicked. And I was blown away by their live performance. Never have I witnessed a performing group and its audience so in synch with each other. It was as if they were feeding off the energy of the other and it was the first time I have ever wanted to actually attend a concert. The above video is what I saw. I quickly searched Youtube for more videos of them and learned more about them. From their very humble beginnings as lowly street level performers who grew in popularity due to their funny charm and hard work. They all traveled in a van and performed with a very limited budget ( almost none lol ). They are definitely not the typical idols. Now after a few years, they basically rule the idol world as Momoiro Clover Z. Yet they still maintain their enthusiasm and continue to work hard with a smile. Today I am happy to received my copy of a collection of their indie albums. Which I wasn't around the first time to get. Below are all 3 editions. Regular CD, Limited Edition A which comes with CD + Blu-ray, and Limited Edition B which comes with CD+ DVD. Time to copy it into my music library.

Star Wars Galaxy7

I'm busy working on several sets this winter. But I'm most excited to be working on the Star Wars Galaxy 7 sketch card set for Topps. I now have the opportunity to work on iconic characters from the famous Star Wars universe. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me for this. There are many extremely talented artists working on this set. And it is up to my to try my best to get people to notice my work as well. I hope people will like what I have to contribute to the set.

There is a new auction site called TradingCardAuctions.com that deals exclusively with any kind of trading cards (promo, autographs, sketch cards, etc.) I have been trying to help promote the site and have listed one of my Iron Man 2 Artist Proof Card for it. The Iron Man 2 Artist Proof card features 5 members of the Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Giant Man, and Wasp) This is not a print or reproduction art but is an original one-of-a-kind hand-drawn sketch card. You can see the card above. Below is the web address to it. Sorry, I can't figure out how to make a link work here.

Upperdeck

Upperdeck is back with new sketch card sets. I was invited but declined to work on the Thor sketch card set due to scheduling issues. But I did work on Marvel Beginnings which I sent back to Upperdeck earlier today. Next up is Captain America sketch cards. I'm also working on some cards for the Treasure Chest Foundation which gives its proceeds to children in need. I will soon be receiving my first card work from Axebone studios for their Dungeon Dolls set. And should be receiving a new set from Rittenhouse that is yet to be revealed. So I'm still doing sketch card work for now.

I also started doing a UStream artcast show every Tuesday at 5pm (PST). Its basically me drawing live from my webcam and people have the option of chatting with me or other viewers on the show. You just need to sign up with Ustream to be able to chat. Otherwise you can just watch as a guest. My Ustream channel is ...

New work

Marvel Heroes and Villains cards from Rittenhouse Archives Ltd., are now on sale. Unfortunately me being a 6 case incentive artist means to get one of my cards you have to buy 6 cases. Unless you want to get them off of Ebay. I'll be working on 2 sets one of which is still in the hush hush stages but the other is Lady Death. Which I'm excited to work on. Time to look up references and get to work.

In 2 weeks on Halloween weekend (Oct29-31st) I will be at artist alley at the Long Beach Comic Con. I will be doing commissions on sketch cards, comic variant blank covers as well as 11"x17" if anyone is interested. Stop by if you can.

Going Incentive

I was recently informed that I will be an INCENTIVE ARTIST for Rittenhouse Archives next upcoming project MARVEL HEROES AND VILLAINS. What does this mean exactly? Well for one thing, all my cards will come with a sticker identifying it as an incentive card. It will also be harder to find one of my cards. Basically its just a bonus card you have a chance of getting when you open a pack of Marvel Heroes and Villains. What does it mean for me? I guess it means I'm moving up in the sketch card world lol.
